Bible Studies

Bible Study is at the core of Christian Education, and accordingly, St. Michael’s offers many opportunities to study the scriptures.

  • On Tuesdays, we meet following the 9:30 a.m. Mass for topical studies of scripture. This class usually meets for about an hour or so. This class offers an intensive study, examining the different ways in which we interpret Scripture, with an emphasis on sound biblical study in the Catholic tradition.
  • Wednesdays, following the 7:00 a.m. Mass, we meet to have a light breakfast and Bible Study. Contact the Church Office to see what book of the Bible is currently being studied.
  • Sunday morning, from 9:15 to 9:45 am, the Rector or another member of the Clergy, will offer a class which may encompass Church History, Theology, Biblical themes, Church Music and Anglo-Catholic devotions.
  • Friday mornings, after the 9:30 a.m. there is an informal gathering we affectionately call Coffee with the Rector. This is a relaxed moment to ask Father Fraser questions about parish life, liturgy, history and our Anglo-Catholic tradition.
  • During the seasons of Advent and Lent, we also have Book Club on Thursday mornings after Mass. The book chosen always corresponds to the Season and is an additional opportunity to grow in our understanding of Jesus Christ and the Church.

It looks like a lot; but, we encourage you to attend the event and time which most suits you. The better informed we are about our Faith, the easier it is to defend it and share it with others. Adult Christian Education is an important part of discipleship.
