The Reverend R. Trent Fraser, Rector
Biography
Father Fraser was born in North Bay, Ontario, Canada in 1965. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Nipissing University College, Laurentian University, in 1987. He graduated from the University of Trinity College, University of Toronto, with a Master of Divinity degree in 1990. Although he was born, raised and educated in Canada, Father was accepted as a postulant for the Diocese of Quincy; and, was ordained deacon and priest in 1992 and 1993, respectively. He served his Title at Saint Clement’s Church, Philadelphia, from 1993 through 2001, being thoroughly trained in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. In late 2001, Father Fraser became Priest-in-Charge of Church of the Redeemer, Southfield, Michigan; and, he served in that capacity for seven and a half years. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as Rector at the Church of Saint John the Evangelist, Newport, Rhode Island; and, from September 2012 through July 2013, Father served the Anglican Church of Canada in his native Province of Ontario. The Vestry called him to become St Michael and All Angels’ Rector in late May; and, he arrived in Denver to assume the living on August 1st, 2013.
Father Fraser is a member of a number of devotional guilds: The Society of Mary and the Society of King Charles the Martyr, to name a few. He is a Council Member of the American Branch of the Guild of All Souls; and, he is a Priest Associate of the Holy House of Our Lady of Walsingham. Father is keenly interested in all aspects of music, both choral and instrumental; and he has a strong appreciation for the textile arts. His other interests include history, reading, baseball, and hockey.
Our Rector is looking forward to building upon the legacy of his predecessors and sharing the Catholic Faith with a new generation. He hopes that God will grant him to serve the people of St Michael’s for the rest of his active ministry!
