Announcements for June 26, 2016

PLEASE NOTE that there will not be Mass tomorrow (June 27th), as Canon Morgan is out of town.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be staffed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to noon.

BROADWAY ASSISTANCE CENTER. The Society of Mary sponsors an evening of helping at the Broadway Assistance Center when there is a fifth Wednesday in the month. Our next opportunity to volunteer will be Wednesday, from 4:45 to 7:15 p.m. We need at least 11 volunteers. All are welcome to help! If you can’t be there for the entire time, please do what you are able. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex.

THE GRADUATION BOUQUET cost has been tallied up; the cost is $16 to each family who included a dedication for the May 22nd bulletin. Please contact the church office if you have a question. It was wonderful to have so many graduates associated with St. Michaels’.

PAVER ORDER EXTENSION: Good news! We’ve been able to extend the deadline for paver orders until the end of June. If you’ve been thinking of honoring a family member or another loved one, Baptism, Holy Matrimony or another special occasion, now is the time to do so. Please contact Dian Searles or Nancy Hoehn if you’d like to place an order.

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am overwhelmed with joy at having been made a deacon in the One Holy and Apostolic Church! I wish to extend my heartfelt and sincere thanks to the entire parish for your prayers and support. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in Rachelle’s and my life, and, by some degree, in the life of SMAAC. Your expressions of love, whether by the offering of prayer, the giving of a gift or card, and/or your presence at the ordination ceremony, are most appreciated! For those who wanted to come, but could not, I appreciate your prayers and mindfulness. Fr. Fraser and I will be meeting with Bishop O’ Neill in the near future for more details about my diaconal internship. In the meantime, please know how happy I am to be placed in your service as a deacon and how much I love you all!–The Reverend Mr. Gary Stoddard

INTINCTION is administered on the pulpit side of the Altar Rail, where the chalice is always administered by the ordained clergy. Please be sure to receive on this side if you receive by intinction. Intinction will be administered using the entire altar rail for the time being, at 8:00 a.m. only. This is due to there being only one priest to administer the sacrament at 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. will remain as before.
