Announcements for August 9, 2015

THE FLOWERS ON THE FEAST OF THE TRANSFIGURATION were given to the Glory of God by David & Jean Gross in thanksgiving on the occasion of their wedding anniversary.

THE FEAST OF SAINT CLARE is this Wednesday, August 12th. The Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 am and 6:30 pm. The late Mass will be followed by the St. Clare’s Guild dinner.

THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY is this Saturday, August 15. A sung Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Following the Mass, the Society of Mary is sponsoring a brunch. All are invited to join us in the Parish Hall for delicious food, fun and friendship. Please sign-up on the sheet in the Narthex. We will look forward to celebrating with you!

FOOD COLLECTION is next Sunday. Canned Meat @ $2/can is being collected.

NURSERY SITTER: We are in need of a Nursery Sitter. Do you know someone? We pay a good wage for relatively easy and delightful (but responsible) work — mainly supervising and interacting with our young children. Kindness, humor and patience are required; childcare experience is preferred but not necessary. If you know someone, please contact Meg Beck at 303-489-2067 for more information.

THE CHURCH SCHOOL PROGRAM needs just one more volunteer! We are thankful to those who have already signed on to help, but the 2nd-3rd grade class still needs a teacher. Is God calling you? “CANONS, CHORALS AND CHANTS”, the Summer Music Day Camp hosted by Nancy King for those 7 years and up is on Saturday, August 22nd, 9:45 am – 4:30 pm. All children 7 and older are welcome! Cost is $5.00 per student to cover supplies and snacks. Information and Registration forms are available in the Narthex or from Nancy King.

CONCERT NOTICE: JANE BAILEY is a member of the Skyline Chorus, which is part of Sweet Adeline’s International. The chorus will be performing a Musical of jazz music, featuring the Rob Raleigh Trio on August 22, 2015, 7:00 pm at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at axs.com or at the door. Prices are: General $24, Orchestra $33 and Senior/Student $20. If you have any questions please contact Jane.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE The Society of Mary will sponsor dinner for residents on Saturday, September 12. It is a fun opportunity to gather with your fellow parishioners and a chance to serve and interact with the residents of the house. ALL are welcome! There is a signup sheet in the Narthex and a container in which to make a donation toward the purchase of the food. Please join us!

OUR 90TH PATRONAL CELEBRATION is next month. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, September 29th. The late Mass will be celebrated at 6:30pm followed by a catered, delicious dinner. The cost is $15/person. Reservations are required – tickets will go on sale Sunday, August 30th.

Please make your check payable to Saint Michael & All Angels’ Church, and note on the memo line “Food Vouchers”.
