Announcements for September 7, 2014

THE SEPTEMBER ARCHANGEL is in the Narthex. Please pick yours up and save us the cost of postage.

CHURCH SCHOOL BEGINS THIS SUNDAY! We hope the children and their families will join us for the annual Kick Off after the 10:00 am Mass. There will be a picnic and lawn games and , of course, the dunk tank so the kids can “Dunk the Directors!”

THE FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY is tomorrow. The Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am.

THE VESTRY MEETS this Thursday at 6:30 pm.

THE ROSARY WILL BE PRAYED this Saturday at 9:30 am.

THE SOCIETY OF MARY meets this Saturday at 10:00 am.

JUNIOR CHOIR REHEARSALS begin next Sunday, September 14th. I know this is earlier than we have traditionally started, but we will need to rehearse for the Evensong. Most of the Juniors will already know the dismissal hymn from having attended the RSCM day camp in July, but it will be new to some! If you have your sheet music from day camp, bring it. All children 8 years of age and older are welcome and encouraged to join Junior Choir. Rehearsals are on Sundays for about 45 minutes after the 10 am Mass. We have a lot of fun learning to worship and praise God with our voices. For more information, please
contact the Junior Choir Director Nancy King at 303-758-3955 or by email at nking406871@msn.com.

ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH at 5 PM our Parish will be treated to Evensong sung by the Royal School of Church Music choristers under the direction of Mrs. Sarah Tafoya! This talented group of young choristers has taken on a very challenging course in choral Church music and we are thrilled to have them. Our own Junior Choir will be joining them for the dismissal hymn. All Sunday School families should plan to attend as the Evensong will be followed by a dinner party to welcome our guests and to kick off the Sunday School and Junior Choir year! All members of the parish are invited to join us. Sign-up sheets will be available soon for the dinner.

SAVE THE DATE! Monday, September 29th is our Annual Patronal. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale next Sunday. Stay tuned for more information.

LITTLE GLASS JARS are in both arches of the Narthex. The money donated in the jars will be used by members of the Society of Mary to purchase clothes for the clothing bank at the Broadway Assistance Center.

TRANSPORTATION FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE for parishioners who, because of physical limitations, would not otherwise be able to attend church services. A per person cap of $300 has been set in order that the limited funds may be made available to a larger number of parishioners in need. If you or a parishioner you know could benefit from this assistance, please call the office, 303-777-5181.
