Report: Society of Mary 2013 Advent Quiet Day

Fr. Kerr speaking at the Society of Mary's 2013 Advent Quiet DayFather Robert Kerr, PhD, from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Westland, MI, addressed participants during the Advent Quiet Day in the parish hall on December 7th. The event, attended by more than 50 people from both the parish and the Diocese, was sponsored by our Society of Mary “Queen of the Angels” ward at St. Michael’s. The theme for the day was: “Full of Grace: The Mother of God in Advent.” Within that theme, Father Kerr specifically focused on three topics: Mary’s Conception, Mary’s intervention at the Wedding Feast at Cana, and Mary at the foot of the Cross—where we were entrusted by Jesus to the care of his Mother. He concluded the meditations by encouraging us to add some new devotions, such as praying the Angelus and Rosary, to our daily lives.

Mary Queen of the Angels ward at St. Michael’s is already planning for the second annual Lenten Quiet Day, scheduled for Saturday, March 8. Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for further details!
